The program has started education as Biology Department in the 2009-2010 fall semester, and the name of the program was changed to Molecular Biology and Genetics in the 2017-2018 academic year. The program has started to accept students in the same period.
As of 2021, 1 Professor, 2 Associate Professors, and 5 Assistant Professors are working in the department.
